INGREDIENTS

1/2 cup Baking Soda

1/4 cup Citric Acid

1/4 cup Epsom Salt

2 tbsp Extra Virgin Coconut Oil

Bath Bomb Molds

*This recipe yields two 3 to 4 oz bath bombs. Adjust according to your needs.

Use a whisk to mix all the dry ingredients: baking soda, citric acid and epsom salt.

Melt coconut oil completely either in a microwave or a double-boiler and slowly to dry ingredients.

Mix well until the consistency is similar to that of wet sand.

Adding essential oils are optional. Orange essential oil (20 drops) and tea tree essential oil (10 drops) create a refreshing and invigorating bath but you can get creative.Other natural blends are: lavender and orange essential oil (for a relaxing scent), orange and clove (for an uplifting scent), and rosemary and bergamot essential oil (for a mind clearing scent).

Next, we mold. The trick is to pack the bath bomb mixture into the molds as tightly as possible. One trick is to use your thumbs to tightly pack the mixture into both halves and overfill each half before firmly pressing the ornament closed.

Unmold your bath bombs after 2 to 3 minutes. It helps to put the mold on one hand, gently tap the top of the mold with your other hand and repeat on the other side.

Allow your bath bombs to dry for a day or two. When they first come out of the mold, they are very fragile, they might crumble. It’s best not to move them too much (or at all) for a day or two.

That’s all there is to it! Feel free to get creative. Add dry florals and color. Play around with it and as usual, have fun!!!
